The challenges we’ve seen since March of last year will persist. Data shows rates of childhood obesity and Type II diabetes among food-insecure children have already skyrocketed during this pandemic. The Chefs Feeding Families initiative, co-founded by Real Food for Kids and Chef David Guas of Bayou Bakery, Coffee Bar & Eatery, remains committed to equitable access to nourishing, delicious, plant-forward meals. In addition, Real Food for Kids continues to adapt its suite of programs that foster and support healthy choices to more accessible formats best suited for the future school structure.
